Our Aussie Trip Was Amazing – Australia 2017

Our Amazing Trip Home Feature

Around a month ago I was getting ready to leave the UK to go to home to Adelaide, South Australia. How crazy right? And only a week and a half ago I was hopping on the plane to come back to the UK. Sometimes I cant believe how fast time goes… Anyway back to my trip.

Crabbing At the Bluff, Victor Harbor, South Australia. Near Adelaide, South Australia.

After taking a long flight we landed in Dubai, went to the hotel and had a short nap before we had to get up really early and get the transfer car back to the airport. So after a while we arrived at the airport and we took the long flight to get to Australia. We arrived in the Sydney airport, got off the plane for a bit, had a bite to eat and then we took another flight – yes I know another plane, trust me, I felt the same way! That flight took us to Adelaide, South Australia.

Right after we got off the plane in Adelaide, we met my best friend’s Dad. He took us to his house were we got into our summer clothes, picked up our car and went to our old school to catch up with some friends. It was the last day of their school term, and I must say it was amazing to see my two best friends in the physical form, not on a phone screen.

We had to go to Victor Harbor right after we visited the school because we were spending Easter there and we wanted to catch up with Mum’s side of the family.

We spent a few days there. For a couple of nights, one of my friends stayed with us and while they were there we went crabbing at the Bluff. At one point my friend and I wandered away from the group and we caught a HUGE crab.

We also went to the side shows one the foreshore near the Granite Island Causeway. It was heaps of fun!

After we stayed in Victor we drove back to Adelaide and stayed there for a week. Mum, Dad and my brother stayed at a friend’s house, about half an hours drive out of Adelaide city, near a town called Echunga. It is up in the Adelaide Hills. I stayed there a few nights too. We got to feed chickens and collect the eggs.

The rest of the time (four days actually) I stayed at my friends’ houses. Two nights in each house. And I must say that having a sleepover after that long was very weird but I still enjoyed it.

Brisbane, Queensland

After that amazing week in Adelaide, South Australia, we took a short flight to Brisbane, Queensland to say hello to Dad’s side of the family. When we arrived I saw my Grandparents, two of my aunts and one of Dad’s brothers, all in a line waiting for us, to greet us when we landed.

After a long drive through Brisbane we arrived at my uncle’s house where we were staying for the days we were spending there. We had lunch with all the family I have in Queensland! If I said everyone who was there I would have a two-page list.

While I was in Brisbane I also got to see the only great grandparent I have. I found seeing him wonderful and it was really nice to meet him when I’ll actually remember him (the last time I saw him I was two years old).

We also saw our cousins doing their ice (or figure) skating and they are really good.

After Queensland we flew to Sydney and we stayed there for three days where we met an old friend of ours and that was amazing! We also saw the Sydney Opera House which was, in my opinion, the best thing we saw in Sydney.

After Sydney we took a plane to Dubai, where we went to the hotel and had a nap again, and the next day we took a plane back to the UK. The temperature change was so weird.
