Yesterday we went to Gloucester Cathedral.
Gloucester Cathedral was used for parts of the Harry Potter movies. We found the Gryffindor common room, Professor Flitwick’s classroom and the great hall (we think it was the great hall anyway).
We also found the hallway where Harry and Ron stood laughing at the first years and Professor McGonagall told them off in the Half Blood Prince.
The cathedral was so big and everything echoed lots, my brother and I had fun making noises and hearing them bounce around.
The stained glass windows were so pretty and there was a treasury down stairs where they kept all of their treasure.
Also, they had a tour of the rooms down stairs called a crypt. This is where people were buried but we missed the tour and could not go down. I did not care because walking around dead bodies is just creepy.
There was a fountain that was in te courtyard and there was a thin layer of ice on top of it. We had fun playing with the ice until my brother almost fell in but we caught him in time.
We had a really great day but were very tired when we got home. We were happy that the fire was going and the house was warm and toasty.
Great post! Yes it’s a beautiful cathedral isn’t it? Stunning glass and ceilings!
Glad you and your brother are getting to experience so much great stuff.
